Event Details
California IT in Education is a not-for-profit, professional membership association supporting the IT Professionals working in schools. Our members are the dedicated individuals supporting hardware, software, help desk, data, WiFi, providing training, and installing and maintaining the infrastructure as technology used in schools in now part of the Internet of Things (IoT).
We are dedicated to providing high quality resources, professional learning, and a strong support community to our members. CITE was established in 1960 as as the California Educational Data Processing Association (CEDPA). In 2003, the name was changed to California Educational Technology Professionals Association (CETPA).
Educational Technology has become an outdated term as technology is now ubiquitous in education and is simply a tool to be used in best teaching and learning practices. So, in 2019 the Board of Directors made the bold decision to change the name again to keep the organization relevant and prepare us for the next 60 years. As technologists who are used to change, we hope the newest name will clearly identify who we are, what our goals are, and instills even more pride in our members.
